There are a lot of Chinese electric cars in the market now a days, these cars are good for short distances but you cannot plan a long trip with them due to their limited range and low maximum speed. However, following the race, now Miles Automotive expects to unveil a prototype of its latest Chinese electric car that will be some what more practical to use as it is expected to have a range of 150 miles and will have a top speed of 80mph. Dubbed XS500 will employ a breakthrough technology namely, a lithium-ion battery pack that promises a better output from the car. This car is expected to hit the market in 2008 at a price of $30,000. It will be joined by a companion model, the XM200. At present company is shipping its ZX40 refitted with an electric motor and batteries. It is priced from around $15,000 and has a top speed of just 25 mph and a range of 40miles.
