The IZIP Fusion 1000 NuVinci electric Scooter uses both the patented Currie Electro-drive System and the NuVinci CVP, which creates an automatic, multi-gear system, handy for tougher drive terrains. Currie has all plans to significantly design more bikes and scooters of this category thus providing more range and opportunities to their retail dealers.
As predicted earlier Paris Motor Show won’t only host genuine Sedans from big brands, over the past so many years Paris has welcomed standout concepts with open arms, irrespective of the design, color and concept… Paris does not have plans to revolutionize its opportunistic platform for unknown names … Thus; Paris continues to excel amongst all other auto shows. Tang Hua Xiao Ya is one such car, which was unveiled in Paris. It does not bear any logos or any brand identity symbols of any kind .It is actually an electric car made in China and features a 7hours charge time. It has a top speed of 45km/h. This car operates on two modes; at a normal mode, the car has the above-mentioned top speed. There is another mode on which the car can run i.e. the performance mode, which reels the car on a higher top speed of 64km/h. This car is only priced at 5,000 USD. There is nothing great about this car … from top speed to its entire outlook; this car isn’t one road scorcher, but it is still there in Paris, winning appreciation and that’s what this great motor show is all about, as it presents us with a perfect blend of cars from all walks of life.
French transportation futurists Venturi have unveiled Astrolab, the world’s first commercially available Electric-Solar Hybrid vehicle at the Paris Motor Show. This strangely designed, yet innovative Hybrid car takes its energy from the sun in order to move. The solar Commuter placed at the top of this vehicle is capable of working with very little energy, 16kW. The best part is, this car gets charged even in motion and it does not need permanent exposure to the sun for movement. The entire top layer of this car (see the picture) is nothing but a 3.6 square-meter layer of today’s most advanced way of delivering solar energy, the photovoltaic cells. Astrolab has a top speed of 120 km/h and a minimum range of 110 kilometers. Its exterior follows the designing ethics of a formula one car as it uses an ultra-light carbon monocoque chassis. What makes this car stand first amongst it breed is the fact that this a’int a mere a showcar, this toy like car is scheduled for delivery in January 2008 , with a price tag of 9,200 euros .
So many years of driving as a bachelor has made me understand that the worst part about it is that I run out of gas and as if god every time adds salt to my wounds, I am broke… The only thought which comes to my mind , forget the negative ones , talking about the positives, ‘ Wish I had a filling station of my own at home’ , ultimately commonsense returns to take charge and I realize, it is time too get out of the fool’s paradise… Nevertheless, it aint a bachelors thought anymore, GM is putting in efforts to make it a practical reality. GM is developing a Hydrogen-filling Station that can be installed at home and is powered by either conventional electricity or even sunlight. However, GM are not the pioneers of this innovative thought, Honda was the first company to design something exactly similar. The critics assess that, there is still lot of time for a stage when there will be a Hydrogen-Refueling at every nook and corner, thus, trusting this notion, the Home-Based Filling Stations are the best what we will get for a while.
2 years back at the Paris Motor Show, Venturi Fetish was an ordinary name though it augmented the reputation of electrically operated vehicles. 2 years hence, Fetish is not only causing astir at the same venue, it has enhanced the very ‘name’ of its maker Venturi , which is know being respected as one of the most accomplished technological companies in the world, in terms of mobility . Venturi has gone ahead and introduced the production version of Fetish, which is the most successful, and safest electric car ever produced. It is powered by 31 batteries, which provides the main motor with 241 horsepower and 162-lb-ft of Torque. Fetish does 0-60 mph under 5 seconds with a top speed of 99 mph. This two seater only measures 3.89 meters lengthwise and weighs 2160 pounds. The maximum range of this is car 250 kilometers, which drops down to 160 km if severely pelted. Apart from the one pictured, Fetis also comes in a white color scheme
Subaru is not recognized as a colossal brand in today’s auto industry but one thing this Company does very well is to research and bring out cars, which are technically apt … Subaru has been on the global scene for some time know, mostly gaining ground and being lauded for its futuristic concept cars . It was in September last year that FHI Ltd and Tokyo Electric Power CO. Inc started jointly working on an Electrically operated vehicle based on Subaru’s R1 e concept car ( see video ) . They have until date produced 10 prototypes to asses their performance and economic benefits. Subaru firmly believes that someday this concept will gain realistic proportions and that time is about to come very soon. Subaru is also working on a hybrid Prototype the B5-TPH, which was unveiled at last years Tokyo Motor Show. The B5-TPH uses a manganese lithium-ion battery technology (a high performance chemical combo) created by FHI and NEC who have collaborated to form NEC Lamilion Energy, Ltd. These high degree /capacity battery packs appertaining to their small size acquire a smaller space, 100mm or less in height . These power packs can be charged very quickly, 90 % of the total battery capacity after 5 minutes of charge. Subaru is not only using these batteries, it is also developing a Lithium-ion Charger . One, two years down the line we are definitely set to see something technologically brilliant from this Japanese Automaker , I can bet you we certainly will.
Developing EV cars can be an expensive venture but applying the same thought to a motorcycle can happen within feasible economic proportions… this is the sole reason why day in day out people are coming up different forms of two-wheelers running on Acid batteries Check out the video that follows to see how a Derbi GPR 50 runs on six Lead Acid Batteries, an electric motor and a DC converter. This Derbi does 0-60 mph in 9 seconds with a top speed of 75 mph. This bikes performance certainly does not match the performance of a GPR 50 running on conventional gasoline but then considering the fact that it is An EV bike one cannot term its performance as cheerless.
The Bush regime really does not know how to end the oil-dependence… Falling gas prices off-late have added to the woes of the Congress, as people have again started thinking about gas-guzzlers… Mr. President personally believes, hybrids are the best way to make the country oil-independent… what makes him believe so is probably the more interesting issue… is it pure frustration out of helplessness or is he seriously planning to bid adieu to conventional gasoline . President Bush while addressing to a conference in St .Louis. quoted I believe so strongly that this country has got to use its talent and its wealth to get us off oil. Probably the fastest way we can begin to change the consumer habits — is to promote hybrid vehicles. My worry is, however, that a low price of gasoline will … make us complacent about our future when it comes to energy This was what the President commented in response to falling gas prices. He also brought up the tax credit issue. The problem however is the looming election; one can only hope for commendable steps to be taken once the legislation is passed, which will happen in the next session. What I fail to understand is why is the President is focusing only on hybrids, rarely has he gone up and mentioned about alternate fuels. He first has to decide whether he wants a greener America or is it just because of pure animosity for the Arab nations that he is pushing the cause of hybrids. The answer is, if his reason is the animosity, he should keep alternative fuel at the top of his priority list, irrespective of the green factor, ethanol won’t at all be a bad option but then he will have to reconsider his relationship with brazil(check this ). On the other hand, if he is seriously concerned about hybrids, it is not the tax credits issue first, he should rather serve notices to all US auto giants and slate a fixed period for Hybrid models to be produced…once it is done then the Tax credit or redemption policy should be brought up… it is not all that difficult lest our President decides, Affirmatively.
If I ask you to figure out the name of the car pictured above without mentioning the Fortwo word, I bet, you wont be able to name this car … Unfortunately for Smart Fortwo lovers , this is indeed a modified version of their darling mini wagon …and guess who did it …Yo! Chinese. Shandong Huoyun have gone ahead and modified the Smart Fortwo in a manner so evasive, pity is the only word you can associate with it. The Huoyun EV Electromobile ranges 75 kilometers with a top speed of 31 mph. Some New York based entrepreneurs have even started selling it from the Fifth Avenue lobby. It is an EV vehicle, which is probably the only good thing about it, otherwise the porcelain magic rather the porcelain disarray(check this) has made this car look, Awful…
Yamaha wants to make its presence felt at the 22nd Electric Vehicle Symposium in Yokohama Japan … they are not launching something very colossal but something which is gaining priority each day that goes by… a mere scooter , but important in the context that it keeps our environment green . Yamaha FC-AQEL is an all-new scooter from Yamaha, which will run on Hydrogen fuel cell. The stack is fueled with two high-pressure hydrogen tanks unlike the Yamaha FC-me in which they used Methanol-Solution. The name it self defines the qualities of this scooter. FC for Fuel Cell, AQ for Acqua and EL for Electricity. The FC-AQEL produces 125cc and needs a refueling at a fuel tank pressure of 35 MPa. It’ll be interesting to know the kind of response this scooter gets at the Symposium… all the best AQEL DigitalWorldtokyo
